Lehi:
a jawbone, a place in the tribe of Judah where Samson achieved a victory over the Philistines (Jdg 15:9,14,16), slaying a thousand of them with the jawbone of an ass. The words in Jdg 15:19, "a hollow place that was in the jaw" (A.V.), should be, as in Revised Version, "the hollow place that is in Lehi."
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
