Lie:
an intentional violation of the truth. Lies are emphatically condemned in Scripture (Jhn 8:44; 1Ti 1:9,10; Rev 21:27; 22:15). Mention is made of the lies told by good men, as by Abraham (Gen 12:12,13; 20:2), Isaac (26:7), and Jacob (27:24); also by the Hebrew midwives (Exd 1:15-19), by Michal (1Sa 19:14), and by David (1Sa 20:6). (See ANANIAS.)
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
