Meonenim:
(Jdg 9:37; A.V., "the plain of Meonenim; " R.V., "the oak of Meonenim") means properly "soothsayers" or "sorcerers," "wizards" (Deu 18:10,14; 2Ki 21:6; Mic 5:12). This may be the oak at Shechem under which Abram pitched his tent (See SHECHEM), the "enchanter's oak," so called, perhaps, from Jacob's hiding the "strange gods" under it (Gen 35:4).
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
