Correct, Correction, Corrector, Correcting:

signifies "a reform, amendment, correction," lit., "a making straight" (dia, "through," orthoo, "to make straight"). In Act 24:2, lit., "reformations come about (or take place, lit., 'become')," the RV has "evils are corrected," AV, "worthy deeds are done;" there is no word for "worthy" or for "deeds" in the original. Some texts have katorthoma, which has the same meaning. See diorthosis, "reformation," Hbr 9:10.

A-2 Noun Strong's Number: g1882 Greek: epanorthosis

Correct, Correction, Corrector, Correcting:

lit., "a restoration to an upright or right state" (epi, "to," ana, "up, or again," and orthoo, see No. 1), hence, "correction," is used of the Scripture in 2Ti 3:16, referring to improvement of life and character.

A-3 Noun Strong's Number: g3810 Greek: paideutes

Correct, Correction, Corrector, Correcting:

has two meanings, corresponding to the two meanings of the verb paideuo (see below) from which it is derived,

(a) "a teacher, preceptor, corrector," Rom 2:20 (AV, "instructor"),

(b) "a chastiser," Hbr 12:9, rendered "to chasten" (AV, "which corrected;" lit., "chastisers").
