Cover, Covering:

signifies "to cover," Mat 8:24; 10;26; Luk 8:16; 23:30; Jam 5:20 (RV); 1Pe 4:8; to veil, in 2Cr 4:3 (RV; AV, "hid").

Cover, Covering:

"to cover up or over" (epi, "over"), is used in Rom 4:7, lit., "whose sins are covered over." Cp. epikalumma, "a cloke," 1Pe 2:16.

A-3 Verb Strong's Number: g4028 Greek: perikalupto

Cover, Covering:

"to cover around" (peri, "around"), e.g., the face, and so, to blindfold, is translated "cover" in Mar 14:65, "blindfold" in Luk 22:64. In Hbr 9:4, it signifies "to overlay."

lit., "to cover together;" the sun--, however, is intensive, and the verb signifies "to cover wholly, to cover up," Luk 12:2.

"to cover up" (kata, intensive), in the Middle Voice, "to cover oneself," is used in 1Cr 11:6, 7 (RV, "veiled").
