1 | Strong's Number: g1777 | Greek: enochos |
Guilty (Adjective):
lit., "held in, bound by, liable to a charge or action at law:" see DANGER.
Notes:
(1) In Rom 3:19, AV, hupodikos, "brought to trial," lit., 'under judgment' (hupo, "under," dike, "justice"), is incorrectly rendered "guilty;" RV, "under the judgement of."
See JUDGMENT.
(2) In Mat 23:18, opheilo, "to owe, to be indebted, to fail in duty, be a delinquent," is misrendered "guilty" in the AV; RV, "a debtor."
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
