"made by hand," of human handiwork (cheir, and poieo, "to make"), is said of the temple in Jerusalem, Mar 14:58; temples in general, Act 7:48 (RV, "houses"); 17:24; negatively, of the heavenly and spiritual tabernacle, Hbr 9:11; of the holy place in the earthly tabernacle, Hbr 9:24; of circumcision, Eph 2:11. In the Sept., of idols, Lev 26:1, 30; Isa 2:18; 10:11; 16:12; 19:1; 21:9; 31:7; 46:6.
