"to write upon, inscribe" (epi, "upon," grapho, "to write"), is usually rendered by the verb "to write upon, over, or in," Mar 15:26; Hbr 8:10; 10:16; Rev 21:12; it is translated by a noun phrase in Act 17:23, "(with this) inscription," lit., "(on which) had been inscribed." Cp. the noun epigraphe, "a superscription."
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
