Rest (The):
"remaining" (for which see REMNANT), is frequently used to mean "the rest," and is generally so translated in the RV (AV, "others" in Luk 8:10; Act 28:9; Eph 2:3; 1Th 4:13; 5:6; 1Ti 5:20; AV, "other" in Luk 18:11; Act 17:9; Rom 1:13; 2Cr 12:13; 13:2; Gal 2:13; Phl 1:13; 4:3); the neut. plur., lit., "remaining things," is used in Luk 12:26; 1Cr 11:34.

Rest (The):
signifying "still left, left over" (epi, "over," and No. 1), is used in the neuter with the article in 1Pe 4:2, "the rest (of your time)."
