Sand:
"sand" or "sandy ground," describes
(a) an insecure foundation, Mat 7:26;
(b) numberlessness, vastness, Rom 9:27; Hbr 11:12; Rev 20:8;
(c) symbolically in Rev 13:1, RV, the position taken up by the Dragon (not, as in the AV, by John), in view of the rising of the Beast out of the sea (emblematic of the restless condition of nations; see SEA).
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
