is used

(a) of things material, Mat 6:6; 25:10; Luk 11:7; Jhn 20:19, 26; Act 5:23; 21:30; Rev 20:3; figuratively, Rev 21:25;

(b) metaphorically, of the Kingdom of heaven, Mat 23:13; of heaven, with consequences of famine, Luk 4:25; Rev 11:6; of compassion, 1Jo 3:17, RV (AV, "bowels of compassion"); of the blessings accuring from the promises of God regarding David, Rev 3:7; of a door for testimony, Rev 3:8.

Shut, Shut Up:

"to shut fast" (apo, away from, and No. 1), is used in Luk 13:25, expressing the impossibility of entrance after the closing.

3 Strong's Number: g2623 Greek: katakleio

Shut, Shut Up:

lit., "to shut down" (the kata has, however, an intensive use), signifies "to shut up in confinement," Luk 3:20; Act 26:10. In the Sept., Jer 32:3.
