Table (At The):
"to recline at a meal table," is rendered "sat at the table" in Jhn 12:2, AV, RV, "sat at meat" (some texts have sunanakeimai); "sat," of course does not express the actual attitude; in Jhn 13:23, RV, "at the table reclining;" AV, "leaning;" in Jhn 13:28, "at the table" (AV and RV), lit., "of (those) reclining."
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
