1 | Strong's Number: g531 | Greek: aparabatos |
Unchangeable:
is used of the priesthood of Christ, in Hbr 7:24, "unchangeable," "unalterable, inviolable," RV, marg. (a meaning found in the papyri); the more literal meaning in AV and RV margins, "that doth not pass from one to another," is not to be preferred. This active meaning is not only untenable, and contrary to the constant usage of the word, but does not adequately fit with either the preceding or the succeeding context.
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
