Us:
The oblique cases of hemis, "we," are the genitive hemon, "of us," the dative hemin, "to us," the accusative hemas, "us." When the nominative hemeis is used, it is always emphatic, e.g., Jhn 11:16, "(let) us (go);" lit., "we, let us go;" 1Th 5:8, "let us... be sober," lit., "we... let us be sober." Sometimes the oblique cases are governed by prepositions.
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
