1 | Strong's Number: g66 | Greek: agrios |
Wild:
denotes
(a) "of or in fields" (agros, "a field"), hence, "not domestic," said of honey, Mat 3:4; Mar 1:6;
(b) "savage, fierce," Jud 1:13, RV, metaphorically, "wild (waves)," AV, "raging." It is used in the papyri of a malignant wound.
Note: In Rev 6:8 the RV renders therion (plural) "wild beasts" (AV, "beasts").
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
