Young's Literal Translation (YLT)

The Young's Literal Translation was translated by Robert Young, who believed in a strictly literal translation of God's word. This version of the Bible is in the public domain.


Darby Translation (DBY)

In 1867, John Nelson Darby translated the New Testament from Greek into English. Further revisions were done in 1872 and 1884. Darby's work was first published as The Holy Scriptures: A New Translation from the Original Languages by J. N. Darby. After Darby's death in 1882, some of his students worked together to produce the complete Darby Bible based on the Masoretic Hebrew text, Darby's German (Elberfelder), and the French (Pau) translations. In 1890, the first complete Darby Bible was published in English. This translation of the Bible is in the public domain.


Webster's Bible (WEB)

The Webster Bible was translated by Noah Webster in 1833 in order to bring the language of the Bible up to date. This version of the Bible is in the public domain.


Hebrew Names Version (HNV)

The Hebrew Names Version is based off the World English Bible, an update of the American Standard Version of 1901. This version of the Bible is in the public domain.


Reina-Valera 1960 Version (RVR60)

In 1960, the British and Foreign Bible Society and the American Bible Society jointly published the popular revision of the Version Reina-Valera. This version has been the basic text of the Spanish Protestant Church for generations. It is the most beloved translation of Spanish speaking Christians because it retains the traditional style of the Spanish language.

Latin Vulgate (VUL)

The Latin Vulgate was translated from the original languages into Latin by Jerome in A.D. 405. For over a millennium, it remained as the preferred translation of the church. This version of the Bible is in the public domain.


Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC)

This Hebrew text is a digital version of the Leningrad Codex developed by the Westminster Hebrew Institute and made available by The J. Alan Groves Center for Advanced Biblical Research. This version is based on the January, 2016 WLC v4.20 release.

Textus Receptus (TR)

The Textus Receptus (latin, "Received Text") is the Greek text originally compiled by Erasmus around 1516. Though the earliest work was prepared by Desiderius Erasmus, his work was later revised by Robert Estienne (or, Stephanus) and further revised by Theodore Beza. The text produced by each is substantially the same, aside from some minor variations. The Blue Letter Bible utilizes Stephanus' edition from 1550.

Smith & Van Dyck (SVD)

This translation is the popular Van Dyck Version, started in 1847 by Eli Smith and completed by Cornelius Van Alen Van Dyck in Beirut. The New Testament was completed in 1860 and the Old Testament in 1865. The translation was based the Textus Receptus, and follows a literal style of translation into classical Arabic.
