Joshua 1:10-18

Theme: Joshua takes command and begins to lead the children of Israel to claim and conquer the promised land of Canaan

Point: Spiritual progress, victory, and rest require partnership.

  1. Taking new territory involves spiritual partnership with God (Jos 1:10-11).
    1. We must do for ourselves the things that we are able to do.
    2. We must depend on God to do the things that only God is able to do.
  2. Taking new territory involves spiritual partnership with God's people (Jos 1:12-15).
    1. We should go forward together because of the call to remember (Jos 1:12-13).
    2. We should go forward together because of the call to rest (Jos 1:14-15).
  3. Taking new territory involves spiritual partnership with godly leadership (Jos 1:16-18).
    1. You can partner with godly leadership by practicing willing obedience (Jos 1:16-17).
    2. You can partner with godly leadership by practicing mutual accountability (Jos 1:18).
    3. You can partner with godly leadership by practicing prayer encouragement (Jos 1:7-18).
