The Call to a Surrendered Life

Romans 12:1-2

Theme: Christian discipleship

Point: What God wants from you is you!

Outline:

  1. The reason for the surrendered life: "I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God" (Rom 12:1).
  2. The reality of the surrendered life: "to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship" (Rom 12:1).
    1. The cost is total.
    2. The cost is personal.
    3. The cost is legitimate.
  3. The requirements of the surrendered life: "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind" (Rom 12:2).
    1. Stop being conformed.
    2. Start being transformed.
  4. The result of the surrendered life: "that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect" (Rom 12:2).
