"NO ROOM IN THE INN"
I. WHO WAS THIS FIRST BORN SON?
A. Isa. 9:6 "For unto us a child is born."
1. His name "the Mighty God."
B. Gabriel in announcing the birth to Mary said "thou shalt call His name Jesus, He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest."
C. John said: "In the beginning was the Word." "And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us." "He was in the world" and the world was made by Him."
D. He is God the eternal one Creator of heaven and earth "All things were made by Him" God taking form of human flesh.
1. The most palatial mansion not worthy.
2. When God came to visit His creation think of it... No room for Him.
a. No room in the inn when He was born.
b. No room in His home town when he started to preach.
c. No room in the Temple.
d. No room in Roman empire.
e. No room on earth, hung Him on cross.
II. WHAT WAS THE PURPOSE OF HIS COMING?
A. Angel told Joseph "shall call His name Jesus, for He shall save the people from their sins."
B. "For the Son of man has come to seek and to save."
C. Putting poor confused man back on right path, path that would lead men to Father.
III. HOW HE WAS TO FULFILL HIS PURPOSE.
A. Paying the penalty for man's rebellion.
1. "All we like sheep have gone astray."
2. The wages of sin is death.
IV. WE ARE SOON TO CELEBRATE THAT FATEFUL NIGHT IN HISTORY WHEN THERE WAS FOUND NO ROOM IN THE INN. SHOULD CHRIST COME TO YOUR HOUSE THIS CHRISTMAN WOULD HE FIND ROOM?
A. No room in our schools.
B. No room in our business.
C. What about our home?
1. Would His presence cause you embarrassment?
2. Would He be in the way of your celebrating?
a. Oh why am I wearing this red suit and beard?
b. Now you realize Lord most any other time of the year I would be glad to sit down and fellowship with you..so busy. "Why did He have to come now of all times."
"Those friends that are coming over how can I explain His
being here."
Some of you had better pray that Christ not come this Christmas or should you?
Will there be room in your home for Christ this Christman?
