看来避免动怒的智慧比十个官员可获取的资源更有能力。动怒是许多巨大危险的根源。新约告诉我们 "各人的重担要互相担当，如此就完全了基督的律法" (加拉太书 6:2)。要担的重担之一就是避免因他人的话动怒。
