法老要依靠埃及神邸带给他得胜和荣耀，但这却是耶和华透过红海对以色列的最后救赎，使自己得荣耀和尊荣。他们要知道以色列的神是掌管万物万有真正的至高主宰。
于是以色列人顺服了耶和华的话，这样行了。摩西引导百姓转身、返回、扎营于离埃及较近的地方，使他们容易受到埃及的攻击。
