在圣经的开篇中，我们发现神在创造，看到祂是全能的造物主。
我们要创造东西，必须从某种东西开始，塑造和合并它来创造另外的东西。神要创造东西，祂可以从无开始。我们拿来树，将它们制作成木材；然后我们拿来木材，将其建造成房屋。我们只能够将已经存在的东西改变成其它的东西。神却从无开始，说"要有光"，就有了光。
"我们因着信，就知道诸世界是藉神话造成的；这样，所看见的，并不是从显然之物造出来的。"
（希伯来书11:3）
被造物应当藉着信被接受。在使徒约翰的福音中，他写到，"太初有道，道与神同在，道就是神。这道太初与神同在。万物是藉著他造的；凡被造的，没有一样不是藉著他造的"（约翰福音1:1-3） 。从这节经文我们看到，耶稣，神的第二位格，在起初就与神同在。
希伯来书11:2说，我们因着信，就知道诸世界是藉神话造成的；这样，所看见的，并不是从显然之物造出来的。实际上，信心是任何形式人类理解的起点。在我们的时代，人们却普遍相信宇宙创造了它自己，尽管有一切已知的可观察到的证据所在；没有人曾经观察过任何形式从无而来的自发创造。所有的理解都始于信心。
