在 29 章，耶和华从 28 章祭司衣服的描述转移到他们作为献身仆人的承接圣职中。该仪式是精心设计的仪式，好让所有以色列人都确定，亚伦和他儿子们是耶和华所拣选的祭司。
为了预备承接圣职的仪式，耶和华总结说，摩西要使亚伦和他儿子成圣，给我供祭司的职分。使成圣是要分别出来做特殊服侍，这特殊服侍就是让他们供祭司的职分。他们的事工是向神的，正如神所说，给我供祭司的职分。摩西奉命要取一只公牛犊，两只无残疾的公绵羊。这些祭牲要在仪式中献上。他也要拿无酵饼和调油的无酵饼，与抹油的无酵薄饼；这都要用细麦面做成。他也要将这饼装在一个筐子里。
最后，摩西要连筐子带来，又把公牛和两只公绵羊牵来。所有的这些物品都要在亚伦和他儿子们承接圣职为祭司职务时，向耶和华献为祭物。部分祭物也要作社区宴席。记住，无酵饼与逾越节的庆祝有关 (出埃及记 12:8，15，17)。
