箴言10:28，所罗门说： “义人的盼望是喜乐，恶人的指望是灭亡。”（28节）盼望并非中立，其结果取决于所倚靠的根基。义人仰望神，并仰望合乎祂智慧的事，因此他们的盼望最终会导向喜乐。
这就是为什么所罗门说义人的盼望是喜乐。他们的盼望建立在鲜活而真实的事物之上。即使身处困境，他们的未来也并非虚无，因为那未来由上帝掌管。圣经中的盼望总是充满稳固，因为它与上帝的品格紧密相连。
