然而，经文不仅描述恶人饥饿，更描述他们贪恋。这表明他们的欲望混乱无序，受制于自我而非信靠。主拒绝恶人的贪恋，因为祂不祝福一切根植于悖逆的事物。耶稣也强调了这一真理，祂教导门徒要先求神的国，并信靠天父的供应（马太福音 6:33）。
