保罗以鼓励结束了要简单、纯洁的要求。赐平安的神快要将撒但践踏在你们脚下。最终，基督会再来，而撒但会被毁灭。神在创世记就应许说，有一天这事会发生 (创世记 3:15)。撒但在使用假教师的影响力，使人偏行，这一点会非常令人沮丧。然而，有一天撒但会被毁灭，而且神会带来平安和公义；我们在启示录 20 章读到撒但受罚的具体细节。启示录 21:3-4 描述了神将带来的平安：
