有些与保罗一起的人向罗马信徒问安。我们从保罗的其它书信对提摩太有了相当多的了解。保罗是提摩太的导师，最终提摩太成为保罗的代表，服侍了数个教会，教导和指导他们。保罗写完这封信时，大概提摩太和他一起，问大家的安。与我同工的提摩太，和我的亲属路求、耶孙、所西巴德，问你们安，"我的亲属" 指他们是犹太血统。使徒行传 13:1 提到一个叫路求的人，是安提阿教会的教师，这里可能是同一个路求。在使徒行传 17:1-10 也提到一个耶孙，他在帖撒罗尼迦接待了保罗和西拉。因为他接待他们，导致一群发愤的乌合之众攻击他，但他最终被官方释放；这可能是同一个耶孙。在此提到的所西巴德可能是保罗第三次宣教之旅的同伴 (使徒行传 20:4)。
