罗马书 4:13-15 含义

在进一步论证信是通往义的道路,而非律法的过程中,保罗在此澄清了一些事情;亚伯拉罕的后裔是那些因信称义,而非因律法称义的人。

相信耶稣可以让我们接受神眼中的义,这是基于神的工作和决定,而且只有神。从我们起初相信基督之时,我们就无条件地属于神和神的家。因此,保罗将继续解释,我们相信耶稣福音的人是与亚伯拉罕同为后嗣 (24 节),因为神算亚伯拉罕的信为义 (3 节)。

如果是因律法,我们才与亚伯拉罕同为后嗣-如果我们必须受割礼,等-那就说不通了,因为算数的是亚伯拉罕的信,而非他的行为。保罗认为,如果遵行律法是称义和承受神应许的必要条件,那么亚伯拉罕的应许就不再有效。这就意味着,神已经藉着引入律法,而推翻了祂的应许。

这与保罗的对手,与之竞争的犹太 "权威" 所提出的观点背道而驰。这些 "权威" 已经宣称,保罗在用福音废掉律法。保罗称他们的主张为 "毁谤" (罗马书 3:8)。现在保罗反向证明,他对手的论点才是因律法废掉神的应许。

耶稣来是要带来律法以外的义 (罗马书 3:21),是亚伯拉罕相信律法以外的应许,以致神称亚伯拉罕为义的延续。保罗继续这一思想,在神因信称亚伯拉罕为义之后,将律法添加为称义的要求,这必然会增加亚伯拉罕的怒气,使神所做的应许无效。而且,因神称我们为义是在律法之外,所以我们违背律法并不会带来与神隔绝的惩罚;神的恩典跨越了我们和神之间的鸿沟。因为律法已经为我们废除了,所以就 "没有过犯"。
