The Bible Says
Proverbs 10:29 Meaning

In Proverbs 10:29, Solomon writes, The way of the LORD is a stronghold to the upright, but ruin to the workers of iniquity (v. 29). God’s way is not merely a standard by which human conduct is measured. It is also a refuge for those who live within it.

For the upright, the way of the LORD is a stronghold. It provides protection, stability, and moral clarity. The person who lives according to God’s design is not inventing reality as they go; rather, they are living within what is trustworthy. That itself becomes a kind of shelter.

But the same way is ruin to the workers of iniquity because God’s order resists evil. What protects the upright exposes the wicked. The difference is not in God’s inconsistency, but in the posture of the human heart. The Lord’s way is life to those who walk in it and judgment to those who fight against it.
