The Bible Says
Proverbs 12:14 Meaning

In Proverbs 12:14, Solomon says, A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his words, and the deeds of a man’s hands will return to him (v. 14). Words and deeds both produce outcomes. Human life is a harvest field in which speech and action bear fruit.

The fruit of his words suggests that speech has a productive power. Wise words can build trust, create peace, teach truth, and strengthen relationships. In that sense, a man may be satisfied with good because what he says has helped form a good environment around him.

Likewise, the deeds of a man’s hands will return to him, meaning that what we do comes back in consequence. This is not a mechanical formula, but a moral principle. Galatians 6:7 reflects the same pattern: whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.
