In Proverbs 12:19, Solomon writes, Truthful lips will be established forever, but a lying tongue is only for a moment (v. 19). Truth has durability because it corresponds to reality. Lies may function for a short season, but they cannot create a lasting world.
To be established forever does not mean every truthful statement remains socially popular. It means truth endures because it is rooted in what God has made real. Ultimately, what is true cannot be overturned by deception.
A lying tongue, however, is only for a moment. Falsehood is temporary by nature because it depends on concealment, confusion, or delay. Once exposed, it loses its power. This proverb reminds us that truth is strong not because humans preserve it perfectly, but because God has made reality resistant to lies.
