The life-preserving truth in Proverbs 14:25 reveals that A truthful witness saves lives, but he who utters lies is treacherous (v. 25). Truth has rescuing power. Honest testimony can preserve the innocent and protect justice.
A truthful witness saves lives because words matter in moments of judgment, accusation, and conflict. When truth is spoken faithfully, people can be delivered from harm, making speech a means of rescue.
But the one who utters lies is treacherous, using speech to betray rather than to protect. This is why Scripture treats false witness as such a serious evil. Lies not only distort information; they endanger lives and fracture trust.
