Em Provérbios 10:26, Salomão diz: Qual o vinagre para os dentes, e o fumo para os olhos, tal é o preguiçoso para aqueles que o enviam (v. 26). Este provérbio descreve vividamente a irritação e a frustração causadas por uma pessoa pouco confiável. Os preguiçosos não apenas se prejudicam; eles sobrecarregam os outros.
O vinagre nos dentes e a fumo nos olhos são irritantes e causam grande desconforto. Da mesma forma, um mensageiro preguiçoso causa decepção, ineficiência e sofrimento àqueles que dependem dele. Não se pode confiar que ele execute a tarefa que lhe foi confiada.
Isso é importante porque a sabedoria bíblica é comunitária. Muitas vezes somos enviados, incumbidos ou confiados com responsabilidades que afetam outras pessoas. A preguiça não é apenas uma fraqueza individual. É uma falha na administração que prejudica os relacionamentos e interrompe o trabalho em equipe.
