Em Provérbios 11:19, Salomão escreve: Quem é fiel na justiça alcançará a vida, e aquele que segue o mal, a morte (v. 19). A perseverança é importante porque a sabedoria é uma jornada, não um momento. A justiça não é apenas admirada; ela precisa ser buscada constantemente.
Ser firme na retidão é continuar escolhendo o caminho de Deus ao longo do tempo, especialmente quando outras opções parecem mais fáceis ou oferecem recompensas mais imediatas. Esse caminho nos leva à vida porque está alinhado com a realidade e com o plano de Deus.
Aquele que busca o mal, porém, está ativamente buscando a morte. Salomão não fala como se o mal fosse acidental. Buscá-lo é caminhar voluntariamente em direção à separação, à ruína e à perda.
