Salomão escreve em Provérbios 11:27 que Quem procura diligentemente o bem chama a si favor; mas aquele que anda em procura do mal, este lhe sobrevirá (v. 27). A direção do coração importa. Aquilo que uma pessoa busca ativamente molda o mundo em que vive.
Buscar o bem diligentemente é perseguir intencionalmente o que beneficia os outros e agrada a Deus. Tal pessoa busca o favor não de forma manipuladora, mas porque o bem está em consonância com a essência do mundo de Deus. O favor frequentemente acompanha uma vida dedicada à retidão.
Quem busca o mal, porém, atrai o mal para si. Este é mais um exemplo de inversão moral. O mal que ele pretende causar torna-se o mal que ele encontra. Os Provérbios nos lembram constantemente que nossas buscas nunca são neutras; elas moldam nosso futuro.
