Smyth was pastor of the New York New Church Society, 1890-1925. He served on the American New-Church Sunday School Association committee that complied and edited the Hosanna. He also served on the General Convention of the New Jerusalem Committee of Worship that compiled and edited the Magnificat in 1910. He also served—along with James Reed—on the General Convention of the New Jerusalem Committee of Worship that established the 1912 Book of Worship; Frank Sewall chaired this committee. |
