Then she said, “Here is my maid Bilhah. Go sleep with her, and she'll bear children for me[fn] so that through her I too can build a family.”

So Ahab went to eat and drink, but Elijah went up to the summit of Carmel. He bent down on the ground and put his face between his knees.
So he picked him up and took him to his mother. The child sat on her lap until noon and then died.
For this is what the LORD says:
I will make peace flow to her like a river,
and the wealth[fn] of nations like a flood;
you will nurse and be carried on her hip
and bounced on her lap.
