“All these officials of yours will come down to me and bow before me, saying: Get out, you and all the people who follow you.[fn] After that, I will get out.” And he went out from Pharaoh's presence fiercely angry.
The water heaped up at the blast from your nostrils;
the currents stood firm like a dam.
The watery depths congealed in the heart of the sea.
“Why should the Egyptians say, ‘He brought them out with an evil intent to kill them in the mountains and eliminate them from the face of the earth'? Turn from your fierce anger and relent concerning this disaster planned for your people.
The LORD said to Moses, “Take all the leaders of the people and execute[fn] them in broad daylight before the LORD so that his burning anger may turn away from Israel.”

He sent his burning anger against them:
fury, indignation, and calamity —
a band of deadly messengers.[fn]
because of your indignation and wrath;

and reveal his arm striking in angry wrath
and a flame of consuming fire,
in driving rain, a torrent, and hailstones.
For this is what the LORD said to me:
As a lion or young lion growls over its prey
when a band of shepherds is called out against it,
and it is not terrified by their shouting
or subdued by their noise,
so the LORD of Armies will come down
to fight on Mount Zion
and on its hill.
So he poured out his furious anger
and the power of war on Jacob.
It surrounded him with fire, but he did not know it;
it burned him, but he didn't take it to heart.
But you have forgotten the LORD, your Maker,
who stretched out the heavens

You are in constant dread all day long

“Look, I have removed from your hand
the cup that causes staggering;
that goblet, the cup of my fury.
You will never drink it again.
They will fear the name of the LORD in the west
and his glory in the east;[fn]
for he will come like a rushing stream
driven by the wind of the LORD.
“They say, ‘Keep to yourself,
don't come near me, for I am too holy for you! '
These practices are smoke in my nostrils,
a fire that burns all day long.
I looked, and the fertile field was a wilderness.
All its cities were torn down
because of the LORD
and his burning anger.
Then I will make you serve your enemies[fn]
in a land you do not know,
for my anger will kindle a fire
that will burn against you.
But you, LORD, know
all their deadly plots against me.
Do not wipe out their iniquity;
do not blot out their sin before you.
Let them be forced to stumble before you;
deal with them in the time of your anger.
“I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and a strong arm, with anger, fury, and intense wrath.
The LORD's burning anger will not turn back
until he has completely fulfilled the purposes of his heart.
In time to come you will understand it.
I will devastate Elam before their enemies,
before those who intend to take their lives.
I will bring disaster on them,
my burning anger.
This is the LORD's declaration.
I will send the sword after them
until I finish them off.
Is this nothing to you, all you who pass by?
Look and see!
Is there any pain like mine,
which was dealt out to me,
which the LORD made me suffer
on the day of his burning anger?
He has cut off every horn of Israel
in his burning anger
and withdrawn his right hand
in the presence of the enemy.
He has blazed against Jacob like a flaming fire
that consumes everything.
“So you[fn] will be a disgrace and a taunt, a warning and a horror, to the nations around you when I execute judgments against you in anger, wrath, and furious rebukes. I, the LORD, have spoken.
“Therefore I will respond with wrath. I will not show pity or spare them. Though they call loudly in my hearing, I will not listen to them.”
“ ‘So this is what the Lord GOD says: I will release a whirlwind in my wrath. Torrential rain will come in my anger, and hailstones will fall in destructive fury.
“I will judge you the way adulteresses and those who shed blood are judged. Then I will bring about the shedding of your blood in jealous wrath.
“When I vent my jealous fury on you, they will deal with you in wrath. They will cut off your nose and ears, and the rest of you[fn] will fall by the sword. They will seize your sons and daughters, and the rest of you will be consumed by fire.
Then Nebuchadnezzar was filled with rage, and the expression on his face changed toward Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. He gave orders to heat the furnace seven times more than was customary,
I will not vent the full fury of my anger;
I will not turn back to destroy Ephraim.
For I am God and not man,
the Holy One among you;
I will not come in rage.[fn]
Who knows? God may turn and relent; he may turn from his burning anger so that we will not perish.
The LORD is a jealous and avenging God;
the LORD takes vengeance
and is fierce in[fn] wrath.
The LORD takes vengeance against his foes;
he is furious with his enemies.
Who can withstand his indignation?
Who can endure his burning anger?
His wrath is poured out like fire;
even rocks are shattered before him.
before the decree takes effect
and the day passes like chaff,
before the burning of the LORD's anger overtakes you,
before the day of the LORD's anger overtakes you.
