LXX Concordance for ἄγγελοι

The two angels entered Sodom in the evening as Lot was sitting in Sodom's gateway. When Lot saw them, he got up to meet them. He bowed with his face to the ground

At daybreak the angels urged Lot on: “Get up! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away in the punishment[fn] of the city.”

And he dreamed: A stairway was set on the ground with its top reaching the sky, and God's angels were going up and down on it.

Jacob went on his way, and God's angels met him.

When the messengers returned to Jacob, they said, “We went to your brother Esau; he is coming to meet you ​— ​and he has four hundred men with him.”

Rejoice, you nations, concerning his people,[fn]

for he will avenge the blood of his servants.[fn]

He will take vengeance on his adversaries;[fn]

he will purify his land and his people.[fn]

He said:

The LORD came from Sinai

and appeared to them from Seir;

he shone on them from Mount Paran

and came with ten thousand holy ones,[fn]

with lightning[fn] from his right hand[fn] for them.

When the messengers came to Gibeah, Saul's hometown, and told the terms to the people, all wept aloud.

The messengers returned to the king, who asked them, “Why have you come back? ”

So they followed them as far as the Jordan. They saw that the whole way was littered with clothes and equipment the Arameans had thrown off in their haste. The messengers returned and told the king.

which sends envoys by sea,

in reed vessels over the water.

Go, swift messengers,

to a nation tall and smooth-skinned,

to a people feared far and near,

a powerful nation with a strange language,[fn]

whose land is divided by rivers.

For though his[fn] princes are at Zoan

and his messengers reach as far as Hanes,

Listen! Their warriors cry loudly in the streets;

the messengers of peace weep bitterly.

On that day, messengers will go out from me in ships to terrify confident Cush. Anguish will come over them on the day of Egypt's doom.[fn] For indeed it is coming.
