“And now don't be grieved or angry with yourselves for selling me here, because God sent me ahead of you to preserve life.

The highway of the upright avoids evil;
the one who guards his way protects his life.
The one who pursues righteousness and faithful love
will find life, righteousness, and honor.
there will be enough goat's milk for your food —
food for your household
and nourishment for your female servants.
Enjoy life with the wife you love all the days of your fleeting[fn] life, which has been given to you under the sun, all your fleeting days. For that is your portion in life and in your struggle under the sun.
Whoever remains in Zion and whoever is left in Jerusalem will be called holy — all in Jerusalem written in the book of life[fn] —
The dead do not live;
