“Your house and kingdom will endure before me[fn] forever, and your throne will be established forever.' ”

Then the woman of Tekoa said to the king, “My lord the king, may any blame be on me and my father's family, and may the king and his throne be innocent.”

So Bathsheba went to King Solomon to speak to him about Adonijah. The king stood up to greet her, bowed to her, sat down on his throne, and had a throne placed for the king's mother. So she sat down at his right hand.

“but King Solomon will be blessed, and David's throne will remain established before the LORD forever.”

“I will appoint him over my house and my kingdom forever, and his throne will be established forever.' ”

The LORD is in his holy temple;

the LORD ​— ​his throne is in heaven.

His eyes watch;

the scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of justice.

“His offspring will continue forever,

Can a corrupt throne be your ally,

a throne that makes evil laws?

A gracious woman gains honor,

but violent[fn] people gain only riches.

A shrewd person conceals knowledge,

but a foolish heart publicizes stupidity.

Wicked behavior is detestable to kings,

since a throne is established through righteousness.

Remove the wicked from the king's presence,

and his throne will be established in righteousness.

A king who judges the poor with fairness —

his throne will be established forever.

a throne will be established in love,

and one will sit on it faithfully[fn]

in the tent of David,

judging and pursuing what is right,

quick to execute justice.

This is what the LORD says:

Heaven is my throne,

and earth is my footstool.

Where could you possibly build a house for me?

And where would my resting place be?

At that time Jerusalem will be called The LORD's Throne, and all the nations will be gathered to it, to the name of the LORD in Jerusalem. They will cease to follow the stubbornness of their evil hearts.

A glorious throne

on high from the beginning

is the place of our sanctuary.

You, LORD, are enthroned forever;

your throne endures from generation to generation.

“As I kept watching,

thrones were set in place,

and the Ancient of Days took his seat.

His clothing was white like snow,

and the hair of his head like whitest wool.

His throne was flaming fire;

its wheels were blazing fire.
