“But you,” he asked them, “who do you say that I am? ”

“and you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we wouldn't have taken part with them in shedding the prophets' blood.'

“But you say, ‘If anyone tells his father or mother: Whatever benefit you might have received from me is corban' ” (that is, an offering devoted to God),

“But you,” he asked them, “who do you say that I am? ”

Peter answered him, “You are the Messiah.”

Then he started to curse and swear, “I don't know this man you're talking about! ”

Pilate asked them again, “Then what do you want me to do with the one you call the king of the Jews? ”

“For John the Baptist did not come eating bread or drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon! '

“But you,” he asked them, “who do you say that I am? ”

Peter answered, “God's Messiah.”

“Don't you say, ‘There are still four more months, and then comes the harvest'? Listen to what I'm telling you: Open[fn] your eyes and look at the fields, because they are ready[fn] for harvest.

After the reading of the Law and the Prophets, the leaders of the synagogue sent word to them, saying, “Brothers, if you have any word of encouragement for the people, you can speak.”

If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your home, and do not greet him;
