Unchecked Copy BoxJos 4:3 - Tell them, ‘Take twelve stones from the very place where the priests are standing in the middle of the Jordan. Carry them out and pile them up at the place where you will camp tonight.'”

Unchecked Copy BoxJos 4:7 - Then you can tell them, ‘They remind us that the Jordan River stopped flowing when the Ark of the LORD's Covenant went across.' These stones will stand as a memorial among the people of Israel forever.”

Unchecked Copy BoxJdg 7:3 - Therefore, tell the people, ‘Whoever is timid or afraid may leave this mountain[fn] and go home.'” So 22,000 of them went home, leaving only 10,000 who were willing to fight.
Unchecked Copy BoxJdg 7:24 - Gideon also sent messengers throughout the hill country of Ephraim, saying, “Come down to attack the Midianites. Cut them off at the shallow crossings of the Jordan River at Beth-barah.”
So all the men of Ephraim did as they were told.

Unchecked Copy BoxJdg 11:17 - they sent messengers to the king of Edom asking for permission to pass through his land. But their request was denied. Then they asked the king of Moab for similar permission, but he wouldn't let them pass through either. So the people of Israel stayed in Kadesh.
