‘Therefore H3651 all H3605 who devour H398 you will be devoured H398;
And all H3605 your adversaries H6862, every H3605 one H3605 of them, will go H1980 into captivity H7628;
And those who take H8155 you as spoil H8155 will be spoil H4933,
And all H3605 who plunder H962 you I will give H5414 as plunder H957.

And Shephatiah H8203 the son H1121 of Mattan H4977, and Gedaliah H1436 the son H1121 of Pashhur H6583, and Jucal H3081 the son H1121 of Shelemiah H8018, and Pashhur H6583 the son H1121 of Malchijah H4441 heard H8085 the words H1697 that Jeremiah H3414 was speaking H1696 to all H3605 the people H5971, saying H559,
‘And they will also bring H3318 out H3318 all H3605 your wives H802 and your sons H1121 to the Chaldeans H3778, and you yourself H859 will not escape H4422 from their hand H3027, but will be seized H8610 by the hand H3027 of the king H4428 of Babylon H894, and this H2088 city H5892 will be burned H8313 with fire H784.'”
For thus H3541 says H559 Yahweh H3068 of hosts H6635, the God H430 of Israel H3478, “As My anger H639 and wrath H2534 have been poured H5413 out H5413 on the inhabitants H3427 of Jerusalem H3389, so H3651 My wrath H2534 will be poured H5413 out H5413 on you when you enter H935 Egypt H4714. The city H5892 and those who inhabit H3427 it;

“Against H5921 the land H776 of [fn]Merathaim H4850, go H5927 up H5927 against H5921 it,
And against H413 the inhabitants H3427 of [fn]Pekod H6489.
Put H2717 them to H2717 the sword H2717 and [fn]devote H2763 them to destruction H2763,” declares H5002 Yahweh H3068,
“And do H6213 according to all H3605 that I have commanded H6680 you.
“A sword H2719 against H413 [fn]their horses H5483 and against H413 [fn]their chariots H7393

A sword H2719 against H413 her treasures H214, and they will be plundered H962!

Make H2388 strong H2388 the watch H4929;
Raise H6965 up H6965 [fn]watchmen H8104;
Establish H3559 men in H693 ambush H693!
For Yahweh H3068 has both H1571 purposed H2161 and performed H6213
What H834 He spoke H1696 concerning H413 the inhabitants H3427 of Babylon H894.
“I will make H7937 her princes H8269 and her wise H2450 men H2450 drunk H7937,
Her governors H6346, her prefects H5461, and her mighty H1368 men H1368,
That they may sleep H3462 a perpetual H5769 sleep H8142 and not wake H3364 up,”
Declares H5002 the King H4428, whose name H8034 is Yahweh H3068 of hosts H6635.
Moreover, the Spirit H7307 lifted H5375 me up H5375 and brought H935 me to the east H6931 gate H8179 of the house H1004 of Yahweh H3068 which faced H6437 eastward H6931. The beryl H8658, the onyx H7718, and the jasper H3471;

Was in you.

They were prepared H3559.
“I will put H5414 hooks H2397 in your jaws H3895
And make the fish H1710 of your canals H2975 of the Nile H2975 cling H1692 to your scales H7193.
And I will bring H5927 you up H5927 out of the midst H8432 of your canals H2975 of the Nile H2975,
And all H3605 the fish H1710 of your canals H2975 of the Nile H2975 will cling H1692 to your scales H7193.
“I will abandon H5203 you to the wilderness H4057, you and all H3605 the fish H1710 of your canals H2975 of the Nile H2975;
You will fall H5307 on the [fn]open H6440 field H7704; you will not be brought H622 together H622 or [fn]gathered H6908.
I have given H5414 you for food H402 to the beasts H2416 of the earth H776 and to the birds H5775 of the sky H8064.
“Moreover, I will make H5414 the canals H2975 of the Nile H2975 dry H2724
And sell H4376 the land H776 into the hands H3027 of evil H7451 men H7451.
And I will make H8074 the land H776 desolate H8074,
As well as its fullness H4393,
By the hand H3027 of strangers H2114; I, Yahweh H3068, have spoken H1696.”
‘Thus H3541 says H559 Lord H136 Yahweh H3068, “On the day H3117 when it went H3381 down H3381 to Sheol H7585 I caused H56 mourning H56; I covered H3680 it with the [fn]deep H8415 over H5921 it and held H4513 back H4513 its rivers H5104. And its many H7227 waters H4325 were stopped H3607 up H3607, and I made Lebanon H3844 [fn]mourn H6937 for it, and all H3605 the trees H6086 of the field H7704 wilted H5968 away H5968 on H5921 account H5921 of H5921 it.
‘You liken H1819 yourself to a young H3715 lion H3715 of the nations H1471,
Yet you are like the monster H8577 in the seas H3220;

For He is the living H2417 God H426 and enduring H7011 forever H5957,
And His kingdom H4437 is one which H1768 will not be destroyed H2255,
“Now at that time H6256, Michael H4317, the great H1419 prince H8269 who stands H5975 guard over H5921 the sons H1121 of your people H5971, will stand H5975. For she said H559, ‘I will go H1980 after H310 my lovers H157,

My wool H6785 and my flax H6593, my oil H8081 and my drink H8250.'
Then Yahweh H3068 said H559 to me, “Go H1980 again H5750, love H157 a [fn]woman H802 who is loved H157 by her companion H7453 and is an adulteress H5003, even as Yahweh H3068 loves H157 the sons H1121 of Israel H3478, though they turn H6437 to other H312 gods H430 and love H157 raisin H809 H6025 cakes H809.”
They offer H2076 sacrifices H2076 on the tops H7218 of the mountains H2022
And [fn]burn H6999 incense H6999 on the hills H1389,
Under H8478 oak H437, poplar H3839, and terebinth H424
Because H3588 their shade H6738 is good H2896.
Therefore H5921 H3651 your daughters H1323 play H2181 the H2181 harlot H2181,
“I sent H7971 a pestilence H1698 among you after the manner H1870 of Egypt H4714;
I killed H2026 your choice H970 men H970 by the sword H2719 along H5973 with H5973 your captured H7628 horses H5483,
And I made the stench H889 of your camp H4264 rise H5927 up H5927 even in your nostrils H639;
Yet you have not returned H7725 to Me,” declares H5002 Yahweh H3068.
Then Amaziah H558, the priest H3548 of Bethel H1008, sent H7971 word to Jeroboam H3379 king H4428 of Israel H3478, saying H559, “Amos H5986 has conspired H7194 against H5921 you in the midst H7130 of the house H1004 of Israel H3478; the land H776 is H3201 unable H3808 H3201 to endure H3557 all H3605 his words H1697.
“Then I will overturn H2015 your feasts H2282 into mourning H60
And all H3605 your songs H7892 into [fn]lamentation H7015;
And I will bring H5927 up H5927 sackcloth H8242 on everyone's H3605 loins H4975
And baldness H7144 on every H3605 head H7218.
And I will make H7760 it like a time of mourning H60 for an only H3173 son H3173,
And the end H319 of it will be like a bitter H4751 day H3117.
I saw H7200 the Lord H136 standing H5324 beside H5921 the altar H4196, and He said H559,
“Strike H5221 the capitals H3730 so that the thresholds H5592 will quake H7493,
And break H1214 them on the heads H7218 of them all H3605!
Then I will kill H2026 the rest H319 of them with the sword H2719;
Not one of them who H5127 can flee H5127 will flee H5127,
And not one of them who H6412 can survive H6412 will escape H4422.
“The statutes H2708 of Omri H6018
And all H3605 the works H4639 of the house H1004 of Ahab H256 are kept H8104;
And in their counsels H4156 you walk H1980.
Therefore H4616 I will give H5414 you up H5414 as an object H8047 of horror H8047
And [fn]your inhabitants H3427 as an object H8322 of hissing H8322,
And you will bear H5375 the reproach H2781 of My people H5971.”
“Behold H2009, I am against H413 you,” declares H5002 Yahweh H3068 of hosts H6635. “And I will burn H1197 up H1197 her chariots H7393 in smoke H6227, and a sword H2719 will devour H398 your young H3715 lions H3715; and I will cut H3772 off H3772 your prey H2964 from the land H776, and no H3808 longer H5750 will the voice H6963 of your messengers H4397 be heard H8085.”
“Their horses H5483 are H7043 swifter H7043 than H4480 leopards H5246
And [fn]sharper H2300 than H4480 wolves H2061 in the evening H6153.
Their [fn]horsemen H6571 come H935 galloping H6335;
Their horsemen H6571 come H935 from afar H7350;
They fly H5774 like an eagle H5404 swooping H2363 down to devour H398.
“So I will stretch H5186 out H5186 My hand H3027 against H5921 Judah H3063
And against H5921 all H3605 the inhabitants H3427 of Jerusalem H3389.
And I will cut H3772 off H3772 the remnant H7605 of Baal H1168 from this H2088 place H4725,
And the names H8034 of the idolatrous H3649 priests H3649 along H5973 with H5973 the priests H3548,
Neither H1571 H3808 their silver H3701 nor H1571 their gold H2091
Will be H3201 able H3201 to deliver H5337 them
On the day H3117 of the fury H5678 of Yahweh H3068;
And all H3605 the earth H776 will be devoured H398
In the fire H784 of His jealousy H7068,
For He will make H6213 a complete H3617 destruction H3617,
“Thus H3541 says H559 Yahweh H3068 of hosts H6635, ‘Let your hands H3027 be strong H2388, you who are listening H8085 in these H428 days H3117 to these H428 words H1697 from the mouth H6310 of the prophets H5030, those who H834 spoke in the day H3117 that the foundation H3245 of the house H1004 of Yahweh H3068 of hosts H6635 was laid H3245, to the end that the temple H1964 might be built H1129.
“My anger H639 burns H2734 against H5921 the shepherds H7462,
And I will visit H6485 punishment upon the [fn]male H6260 goats H6260;
For Yahweh H3068 of hosts H6635 has visited H6485 His flock H5739, the house H1004 of Judah H3063,
And will make H7760 them like His splendid H1935 horse H5483 in battle H4421.
“In that day H3117 I will make H7760 the clans H441 of Judah H3063 like a fiery H784 laver H3595 among pieces of wood H6086 and a fiery H784 torch H3940 among sheaves H5995, so they will consume H398 on the right H3225 hand H3225 and on the left H8040 all H3605 the surrounding H5439 peoples H5971, while Jerusalem H3389 will again H5750 be inhabited H3427 in H8478 its own place H8478—in Jerusalem H3389.
“And I will pour H8210 out H8210 on the house H1004 of David H1732 and on the inhabitants H3427 of Jerusalem H3389 [fn]the Spirit H7307 of grace H2580 and of supplication H8469, so that they will look H5027 on Me whom H834 they have pierced H1856; and they will mourn H5594 for Him, as one mourns H5594 for an only H3173 son H3173, and they will weep H4843 bitterly H4843 over H5921 Him like the bitter H4843 weeping H4843 over H5921 a firstborn H1060.
“And it will be H1961 in that day H3117,” declares H5002 Yahweh H3068 of hosts H6635, “that I will cut H3772 off H3772 the names H8034 of the idols H6091 from the land H776, and they will no H3808 longer H5750 be remembered H2142; and I will also H1571 cause the prophets H5030 and the unclean H2932 spirit H7307 to pass H5674 away H5674 from the land H776.
“Awake H5782, O sword H2719, against H5921 My Shepherd H7462
And against H5921 the man H1397, My Associate H5997,”
Declares H5002 Yahweh H3068 of hosts H6635.
“Strike H5221 the Shepherd H7462 that the sheep H6629 may be scattered H6327;
And I will turn H7725 My hand H3027 [fn]against H5921 the little H6819 ones.
Now this H2088 will be the plague H4046 with which H834 Yahweh H3068 will plague H5062 all H3605 the peoples H5971 who H834 have gone H6633 to war H6633 against H5921 Jerusalem H3389; their flesh H1320 will rot H4743 while they stand H5975 on their feet H7272, and their eyes H5869 will rot H4743 in their sockets H2356, and their tongue H3956 will rot H4743 in their mouth H6310.
“Then I will draw H7126 near H7126 to you for judgment H4941; and I will be a swift H4116 witness H5707 against the sorcerers H3784 and against the adulterers H5003 and against those who swear H7650 falsely H8267 and against those who oppress H6231 the wage H7916 earner H7916 in his wages H7939, the widow H490 and the [fn]orphan H3490, and those who turn H5186 aside H5186 the sojourner H1616 and do not [fn]fear H3372 Me,” says H559 Yahweh H3068 of hosts H6635.
