“But if you will not send him, we will not go, for the man said to us, ‘You will not see me again unless your brother is with you.' ”

This is what the LORD says:
Stand by the roadways and look.
Ask about the ancient paths,
“Which is the way to what is good? ”
Then take it
and find rest for yourselves.
But they protested, “We won't! ”
“But they will say, ‘It's hopeless. We will continue to follow our plans, and each of us will continue to act according to the stubbornness of his evil heart.' ”

and many nations will come and say,

in the name of their own gods,
