Then a demon-possessed man who was blind and unable to speak was brought to him. He healed him, so that the man[fn] could both speak and see.
At that time Jesus healed many people of diseases, afflictions, and evil spirits, and he granted sight to many blind people.
The crowds were all paying attention to what Philip said, as they listened and saw the signs he was performing.
So he went out and followed, and he did not know that what the angel did was really happening, but he thought he was seeing a vision.
as it is written,
God gave them a spirit of stupor,
eyes that cannot see
and ears that cannot hear,
to this day.
Let their eyes be darkened so that they cannot see,
and their backs be bent continually.
Then I turned to see whose voice it was that spoke to me. When I turned I saw seven golden lampstands,
But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or even to look in it.
I wept and wept because no one was found worthy to open[fn] the scroll or even to look in it.
