d. = assign, designate, with ׃לְ God hath assigned victim-flesh to (ל) you, in order to bear sins of people Leviticus 10:17, compare Numbers 18:8 (both P); cities for (ל) flight of man-slayer Numbers 35:6 (P); לְכַפֵּר עַל־הַמִּזְבֵּחַ לָכֶם נָתַתִּי Leviticus 17:11 (H).
3. Make, constitute,
a. with 2 accusative, וְנָתַתִּי נְעָרִים שָׂרֵיהֶם Isaiah 3:4 and I will make boys their princes, compare Genesis 17:5; Exodus 7:1 (both P), Psalm 18:33 (> וַיַּתֵּר in || 2 Samuel 22:33), Psalm 39:6 [Psalm 39:5]; Psalm 69:12 [Psalm 69:11]; Psalm 135:12, etc.; + בֵּין Joshua 22:25 (P); + אֶלֿ person וְנָתַתִּי אֶתכָּֿלאֹֿיְבֶיךָ אֵלֶיךָ עֹרֶף Exodus 23:27 (E), and I will make all thine enemies unto thee a back, i.e. make them shew thee their back, flee from thee, so with לְ Psalm 18:41 = 2 Samuel 22:41.

c. with accusative + כְּ, כַּשִּׁקְמִים וְאֵת הָאֲרָזִים נ׳ 1 Kings 10:27 and the cedars he made like the sycomores, i.e. as common, = 2 Chronicles 1:15, compare 1 Kings 16:3; Ezekiel 28:6; Leviticus 26:19 (H), Ruth 4:11; וַיִּתֵּן אֹתָנוּ כִּמְרַגְּלִים Genesis 42:30 (E), i.e. regarded, treated us as spies, but insert בַּמִּשְׁמָר Greek Version of the LXX Ol Di Ball Holz, — אַלתִּֿתֵּן אֶתאֲֿמָֽתְךָ לִפְנֵי בַת בְּלִיַּעַל 1 Samuel 1:16 difficult, (not withstanding Job 3:24; Job 4:19), read probably כְּ (HPS), or לְ, for לִפְנֵי.
d. rarely with accusative alone: וּמִבְּנֵי יִשׂ׳ שְׁלֹמֹה עֶבֶד לֹא נ׳ 1 Kings 9:22 and of the sons of Israel Solomon made no slave, but read probably לְמַס עֹבֵד (as 1 Kings 9:21; Greek Version of the LXXA ἐς πράγμα, omitted by B LXX of Lucian (Lag.); compare Klo Benz), וָאֶתֵּן עֲלֵיהֶם קְהִלָּה Nehemiah 5:7 and I made (held) over their case a great assembly; make a decree, חֹק, Psalm 148:6; perhaps also וַתִּתֵּן אֹתֹת בְּפַרְעֹה Nehemiah 9:10 and thou didst perform signs and wonders against Pharaoh, etc. (compare שִׂים אוֺתֹת בְּ Exodus 10:2; Psalm 78:43).
