“When you reap the harvest in your field, and you forget a sheaf in the field, do not go back to get it. It is to be left for the resident alien, the fatherless, and the widow, so that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.
“Look down from your holy dwelling, from heaven, and bless your people Israel and the land you have given us as you swore to our ancestors, a land flowing with milk and honey.
“When you have crossed the Jordan, these tribes will stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin.
“Your offspring[fn] will be blessed,
and your land’s produce,
and the offspring of your livestock,
including the young of your herds
and the newborn of your flocks.
“The LORD will grant you a blessing on your barns and on everything you do;[fn] he will bless you in the land the LORD your God is giving you.
“The LORD will open for you his abundant storehouse, the sky, to give your land rain in its season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations, but you will not borrow.
“When someone hears the words of this oath, he may consider himself exempt,[fn] thinking, ‘I will have peace even though I follow my own stubborn heart.’ This will lead to the destruction of the well-watered land as well as the dry land.
This is the blessing that Moses, the man of God, gave the Israelites before his death.
He said about Joseph:
May his land be blessed by the LORD
with the dew of heaven’s bounty
and the watery depths that lie beneath;
He said about Gad:
The one who enlarges Gad’s territory
will be blessed.
He lies down like a lion
and tears off an arm or even a head.
He said about Asher:
May Asher[fn] be the most blessed of the sons;
may he be the most favored among his brothers
and dip his foot in olive oil.
All Israel — resident alien and citizen alike — with their elders, officers, and judges, stood on either side of the ark of the LORD’s covenant facing the Levitical priests who carried it. Eli would bless Elkanah and his wife: “May the LORD give you children by this woman in place of the one she[fn] has given to the LORD.” Then they would go home.
“As soon as you enter the city, you will find him before he goes to the high place to eat. The people won’t eat until he comes because he must bless the sacrifice; after that, the guests can eat. Go up immediately — you can find him now.”
Just as he finished offering the burnt offering, Samuel arrived. So Saul went out to greet him,
When Samuel came to him, Saul said, “May the LORD bless you. I have carried out the LORD’s instructions.”
One of Nabal’s young men informed Abigail, Nabal’s wife, “Look, David sent messengers from the wilderness to greet our master, but he screamed at them.

When David had finished offering the burnt offering and the fellowship offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD of Armies.
When David returned home to bless his household, Saul’s daughter Michal came out to meet him. “How the king of Israel honored himself today! ” she said. “He exposed himself today in the sight of the slave girls of his subjects like a vulgar person would expose himself.”
Now, please bless your servant’s house so that it will continue before you forever. For you, Lord GOD, have spoken, and with your blessing your servant’s house will be blessed forever.
