He said to him, “I am also a prophet like you. An angel spoke to me by the word of the LORD: ‘Bring him back with you to your house so that he may eat food and drink water.’ ” The old prophet deceived him,
So Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “May the gods punish me and do so severely if I don’t make your life like the life of one of them by this time tomorrow! ”
Then he lay down and slept under the broom tree.
Suddenly, an angel touched him. The angel told him, “Get up and eat.”
Then the angel of the LORD returned for a second time and touched him. He said, “Get up and eat, or the journey will be too much for you.”
He sent messengers into the city to King Ahab of Israel and said to him, “This is what Ben-hadad says:
The messengers then returned and said, “This is what Ben-hadad says: ‘I have sent messengers to you, saying, “You are to give me your silver, your gold, your wives, and your children.”

Elisha was sitting in his house, and the elders were sitting with him. and the LORD sent an angel who annihilated every valiant warrior, leader, and commander in the camp of the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria returned in disgrace to his land. He went to the temple of his god, and there some of his own children struck him down with the sword.
But the LORD, the God of their ancestors sent word against them by the hand of his messengers, sending them time and time again, for he had compassion on his people and on his dwelling place.
But they kept ridiculing God’s messengers, despising his words, and scoffing at his prophets, until the LORD’s wrath was so stirred up against his people that there was no remedy.
