“You are to hold a sacred assembly in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, and you are not to do any daily work. This will be a day of trumpet blasts for you.

“You are to labor six days and do all your work,

But Solomon did not consign the Israelites to be slaves for his work; they were soldiers, commanders of his captains, and commanders of his chariots and his cavalry.

“But as for us, the LORD is our God. We have not abandoned him; the priests ministering to the LORD are descendants of Aaron, and the Levites serve at their tasks.

When Baasha heard about it, he quit building Ramah and stopped his work.

and carried out great works in the towns of Judah. He had fighting men, valiant warriors, in Jerusalem.
